Canadian Wake Championships presented by Monster Energy and Nautique Got Questions? We have answers!
We have been getting quite a few questions from riders and parents about Canadian Wake Championships so we thought it would be a good idea to help clarify a few things!
Do I have to register Online ahead of time? YES!
The answer to this is YES! You do if you want to avoid the late registration fee of $25. Online registration is open until 8PM On Wednesday Aug 21st. Visit Karleo http://www.karelo.com/register.php?Ev=13423 you will have to create a login and password, then fill out the athlete bio. Payment can be made by visa, mastercard or cheque online.
If I’m not sure about competing can I still register on-site and pay the late-entry?
The answer to that is YES as well, however you must register before the following times: On-site late registration for all boat divisions running Friday will be Thursday from 10am – 6pm at Bushs Sports Centre. Features on-site late registration will be Friday at noon. All boat registration will close Friday night at 7PM.
What is Athlete Check in and do I have to go?
YES! If you are registered online you will still need to come to athlete check-in to complete your registration. Here you will pick up your athlete wristband, New Era Wake Championships Cap, schedule and any other information you will need to compete at the 2013 Canadian Wake Championships. Athlete check-in times are the following:
- Thursday 10am – 6pm
- Friday 8am – 6pm
- Saturday 8am – 9am
Note: If you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian with you to sign the event waiver.
Do I have to buy a Waterski-Wakeboard Canada Membership?
NO you do not need a competitive license, you just need your provincial membership. Please bring your membership card or number with you to the event.
What do I get with my Entry Fee?
You get the full kit & caboodle for the event! Athlete’s will receive a limited edition Wake Championships New Era snapback, unlimited riding at What Wake Park Thursday – Sunday, Unlimited riding in the Wake Championships Skate Park, (Yes! Bring your skateboard & helmet) Free entry to Rip Curl’s The Judgment Premier Patio Party @ The Kee to Bala (athletes under age must have a parent with them at the premier party) and Dinner included Saturday night at 6pm for the Awards BBQ.
If I’m not riding do I have to pay to get in?
NO! The event is free for all spectators, friends and family.
What is the ‘Features Only’ Event?
The Features-Only event is a straight-line cable Wake Park Jam that will take place at What Wake Park. Riders will compete on the obstacles only including Kickers and rails, no loaded air tricks will be allowed in this division.
Divisions Include: Amateur Features Only, Open Wakeskate Features Only, Open Women’s Features Only and Open Mens Wakeboard Features only.
Cash prizing will be given out for the following features only divisions: Open Men’s Wakeskate, Open Men’s Wakeboard, Open Women’s Wakeboard
When is the Features-Only Event?
The Features-Only event will take place Friday afternoon starting at 3PM – 7:30pm.
Do I have to compete in the Boat division to Compete in Features only?
NO! You can register just for the features-only division if you like. Entry fee is $60 if you are not competing in the Boat division.
How do I sign up for Familiarization?
Familiarization is on a first-come first-serve basis. The Monster Energy Nautique G23 will be running starting at 10AM – 5PM on Thursday Aug 22nd and What Wake Park will be open for familiarization from 10am – 5pm on Thursday Aug 22nd, and 10AM – 2:30PM on Friday Aug 23rd for the Features Only division.
Boat familiarization is $20, payment on-site only.
