Wake Canada is excited to announce that the 2016 dates and locations have been confirmed for it’s three major National Championships events: Wakeboard, Wake Park and Wakesurf! Canadian Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships Presented by Nautique Boats Canadian Straight-line Cable Championships August 4th – 7th , 2016 Abbotsford, BC Returning to calm waters of Valley Wake Park in Abbotsford BC are the Canadian Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships and Canadian Straight-line Championships. This four day event is scheduled to host all amateur age divisions from Juniors to Veterans, as well as the Open Men’s and Open Women’s boat divisions. “We are excited to have the National Championships back in BC for its second year,” says James Balzer, Pro Wakeskater, “Last year the event was a huge success. Everyone loved being able to ride Valley Wake Park during the boat contest and we managed to pull together the largest prize purse in years for the pro divisions. I know this year is only going to be bigger and better.” The official event towboat will be the award-winning Nautique G23, offering the cleanest and largest wake in the industry. Boat practice will take place on Thursday August 4th, with qualifiers on Friday, and semi-finals and finals throughout Saturday August 6th & Sunday August 7th. In addition to the boat event, Valley Wake Park will host the Canadian Straight-line Cable Championships at their System 2.0 park. “Valley Wake Park is one of my favourite places to ride,” says 2015 National Champ Dary Znebel “The set up there has so many line options, you can really get creative with what you can throw down in your passes.” Stay posted to www.wakecanada.com for the full event schedule and registration details.

Canadian Wake Park Championships August 12th – 14th, 2016 Point Calumet, QC The Canadian Wake Park Championships will be returning to an old-yet-new full cable venue for 2016; the freshly restored Pointes Wake Park in Point Calumet, QC. Two of Quebec’s top riders Yan Tibo and Alex Savoie have taken over the management of the park from what was previously Le Beach Club, and have been working diligently to produce an exciting new fleet of unique features. “We are stoked to bring the National Wake Park Championships to Pointes” says Tibo, “Quebec has some of the sickest wake park riders and I think our newly renovated park will showcase a whole new level of riding. ” The event will take place throughout the weekend and will include both amateur and pro categories. Nautique Canadian Wakesurf Championships Supported by Pride Marine Group and Wake Canada Aug 18th – 20th, 2016 Ontario Place Watersports Course Toronto, Ontario After two successful years at Calabogie Lake, Ontario the Canadian Wakesurf Championship shifts to Toronto and the new Ontario Place Watersports Course created for last year’s Pan Am Games. Sanctioned by the CWSA (Competitive Wake Surf Association) as part of the World Series of Wakesurfing, the event will run during the opening weekend of Canadian National Exhibition and will welcome all levels of wakesurfers from juniors to amateurs to pros. “Nautique Boats in conjunction with Pride Marine Group have really stepped up in a big way to support wakesurfing in Canada,” says Wake Canada representative Sean Fleming. “Nautique is at the forefront of revolutionizing wakesurf boat design, so we’re very excited to partner with the market leader to grow the competitive side of the sport!” Together with the WWA Wakeboard World Championships August 24th – 28th, the Canadian Wakesurf Championships kicks off an exciting two week showcase of wake sports on the downtown waterfront of Canada’s largest city!
